This is my first Rebecca Yarros novel, and it certainly won’t be my last.
The Things We Leave Unfinished is a definite must read. It's part historical romance, part contemporary romance, and 100% hard to put down and immersive.
I loved Scarlett and Jameson’s epic love story, set amidst the chaos of war. They had a once in a lifetime love that defied so many obstacles. War, distance, and family expectations continually threatened their happily-ever-after but they proved their love was undying and real.
The sister bond between Scarlett and Constance stood out for me, it was beautiful, undeniably real and self sacrificing that left me a sobbing mess at the end.
The writing was beautiful, easy to read and relatable. Some of the letters were so heartbreaking it felt like I was being split open.
While I loved Scarlett and Jameson, I had trouble relating to the contemporary romance in the book - this is where Noah and Georgia fit in. I could imagine Scarlett and Jameson fall in love amidst the chaos, but I think Noah and Georgia weren't given enough time or space to have fallen for each other they way they did.
I just couldn't connect with them as a couple like I did with Jameson and Scarlett. Other than that, it was a beautiful book.

I adored this book.. I am a big fan of emotional love stories so how this book checked all my boxes fir a perfect story was a good surprise.
THE THINGS WE LEAVE UNFINISHED is a unique story of two couples with undying but in different era...the story goes back and forth in time in a flawless rhythm which just pulls the attention of us readers and refused to let go until the last page...where everything turns out to be okay...finally after so much emotionally exhausting story.
Did I cry in this story? Well, that's an understatement....I have always had a place for world War Romance stories and this author has give me exactly what I wanted... and how our couple in the present Georgia and Noah learned about them was enchanting....
Scarlette and Jameson... *sign*...I can't even express in words how much I really enjoyed them...both of this stories are unique but they merge together beautifully even with the time difference.
This is my first book by this author and I can't thank God enough for me to have find her books...if every book of her is as emotionally raw and heart touching then I may have found myself a goldmine.

The Versatile Doctor
The Things We Leave Unfinished by Rebecca Yarros absolutely gutted me. It shredded my heart. It broke my heart into millions of pieces. And here I am, paralyzed by the breathtaking feels, choking on the heartbreaking emotions and falling in love with this story a bit more with each passing second. If they say that true love cannot happen without pain, then this story is my true love.
This story runs in two parallel universe. One is set in 1940 world war era, telling the unfinshed tale of Scarlett Stanton and the pilot she loved Jameson. Another is set in modern day world. Where Georgia Stanton has inherited everything after her great grandmother and the most renowned romance author Scarlett Stanton's death. Including her last unfinished manuscript narrating her own love story. Noah Harrison, the brooding and famous writer wants to finish it. Georgia doesn't trust him to do the story justice but it's the best option. And Noah certainly doesn't want to fall in love with the woman who hates his guts.
Timeless is the right word for this love story. It is magnificently written. And she wrote two love stories in one amazing book. Georgia is so smart, creative, strong and compassionate that my heart breaks to see this brilliant woman getting hurt over and over again. And then there is Noah. Arrogant. Rough around the edges. No nonsense and straightforward. But wow this man can charm even the most strict nun if he wants. He has the most beautiful heart that brought Georgia back to life. They had trust issues. Fire of hate. Burning sexual tension that just exploded after some time. And they had a connection that is achingly beautiful. The author touched my heart and altered it forever. The love story of Scarlett and Jameson will get an ending. Something I didn't saw coming. And when I read it, I just stopped reading and started crying. I cannot tell you if it was happiness or sadness or the brutal effect of powerful emotions.
My mind is still in a fog of emotional attacks. Because I have no idea how to process these overwhelming feels after finishing The Things We Leave Unfinished by Rebecca Yarros. Poignant. Mindblowing. A true masterpiece.
